How Do I Get Access?

How Do I Get Access?

Enterprise Tableau resources, dashboards and data sources, are automatically made available to users depending on their Data Mart access.

Users with Student Mart access automatically have access to the student-related resources. With the recently expanded student data access (see announcement here), row-level mart access reaches across the campus-level data, which will grant access to additional rows of student data and broadens the scope of information available for analysis and decision-making.

If you have GL Mart Access, you will automatically see have access to the financial resources and data you're authorized to view.

Requesting Access to Dashboards & Data Sources

The resources and their associated Data Marts are listed below.

PeopleSoft access is separate from Student Mart. It requires a distinct access request.

To view Restricted Fields (performance indicators, demographics, personal identifiers) special permission is needed. Your Fed Auth request should reflect this need and a clear justification or business need for accessing these fields.

If you do not have access to restricted fields, you will see null values in the dashboards.

Keeping Data Safe

Access to restricted data is managed through “column-level.” Protected categories of columns – like those for financial aid and social security numbers – will require approval from the University’s data stewards via the Federated Authorization process.

As always, users are expected to utilize the data solely for official University business in accordance with University policies.

The Office of Compliance, Investigation and Ethics provides online FERPA training (beginning early in 2025).
