  • First, install connector version 2.2.1 .0 here. This will match the version we have on Alteryx Server. Run the installer before following the next steps.

  • You will need your IT support to help with the next part.
    Administrators will need to create a new string value PythonAllowHideEncryption under the Alteryx Registry Key:

    • Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SRC\Alteryx
      Value Name: PythonAllowHideEncryption
      Value Data: true

    • Steps to create the new key:

      1. Type regedit in Windows Start Menu and RUN AS ADMIN.

      2. Browse to the folder location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SRC\Alteryx

      3. Right click and select New > String Value

      4. Set the KeyName to PythonAllowHideEncryption and the Value to 'true'

  • Update Certs (also recommended to have IT support complete).

    • Go to https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/signin/ , but do not login.

    • Click the lock icon in front of the URL in your web browser. Then choose Connection is Secure > Certificate is valid.

    • Click on the Details tab of the window that pops up. For each item in the Certificate Hierarchy, click on the item and choose export at the bottom right. Save these somewhere easy to find.

    • Find the stamp2.login.microsoftonline cert that saved to your local machine. Add .crt to the end of the file name to change the file extension and file type. You should now see this cert file with the certificate icon and it should now be a ‘Security Certificate’ file type.

    • Type ‘mmc’ in your Windows search bar, and run it.

      In the console, click File > Add or Remove Snap-in. Select ‘Certificates’ and hit the add button. Choose ‘Computer account' in the Window that pops up. Click Finish, then Okay.

    • Expand the Certificates. Right click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Then choose All Tasks > Import.

    • In the Import Wizard, select Next for the first screen. On the next screen, use the browse button to open the DigiCert Global Root CA.crt file. Click Next. Leave all settings as is, and click Next for the following screen. On the final screen, click Finish.

    • Do the above two steps, only select ‘Intermediate Certification Authorities’ and import DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA.crt.

    • Do the same, but select ‘Personal’ and import stamp2.login.microsoftonline.com.crt.

  • Setup DCM connection

    • Open Alteryx.

    • Pull the OneDrive Input tool on the canvas.

    • Choose ‘Set up a Connection’ in the configuration panel.

    • Click ‘Ad Data Source’ in the top right.

    • Enter a meaningful name, and click save.

    • Choose ‘Connect a Credential’

    • Choose ‘Built-In App’ for the Authentication Method and choose ‘Create New Credential’ in the OAUTH SESSIONS dropdown. Enter a name for the Credential. Check the ‘Allow connection for SDK’ check box. Then, click ‘Create and Link.’

    • Next, click the ‘Connect’ button. You will be prompted to sign in to your OneDrive account.

    • Once you are signed in, you will have options to configure the OneDrive Input tool.

    • You must sync your new DCM connection with alteryx.pitt.edu

      • You will need to login to Pitt’s Alteryx Server. Go through the motions of opening a workflow from server, but don’t actually open anything.

      • Click on File > Manage Connections.

      • Click Synchronize on the left panel of the Connection Manager window.

      • Click on the link for our Alteryx Gallery.

      • You will see a list of DCM connections you have access to. Click ‘Synchronize’ at the top left.

      • Your DCM connection should now be on Gallery.
