Connect Alteryx Designer to Alteryx Server

The first time you want to publish to (or open a Workflow from) Alteryx Server, you will need to set up your Designer to setup to our Alteryx Server environment. You will also want your Alteryx Designer application tied to Alteryx Server to manage and maintain credentials to data sources such as database connections (including the Data Warehouse), OneDrive, and Tableau.

Before you begin

Please verify that you are able to access Alteryx Server through a web browser. If you are experiencing difficulty or unable to access Alteryx Server, please submit a help request using one of the methods described here.

To connect Alteryx Designer to Alteryx Server:

  1. Open Designer and navigate to File > Open Workflow > Add New Server

  1. In the box that pops up, enter our Alteryx Server url: https://alteryx.pitt.edu/gallery

  1. Login to Pitt Passport using your Pitt credentials. Once you have completed authentication, you should see a window like this one (there may or may not be workflows available to you, depending on whether they were shared with you).
